While Antarctica is one of the coldest places in the world, it is technically a desert because it is extremely dry and only averaging about 6.5 inches of precipitation per year. 

Did you know that the highest temperature ever recorded on the continent was 20.75oC/ 69.3oF on February 9, 2020 which beat the previous record on January 30, 1982 which was 19.8oC/ 67.6oF?

On the other hand, the lowest temperature ever recorded was -89.2oC/ -128.6oF on July 21, 1983.
