Skogafoss Waterfall is one of the famous waterfalls in Iceland and it is also one of the biggest in the country. It is definitely a majestic sight with a width of 82 feet and a drop off about 200 ft and it is a normal sight to see a single or double rainbow due to the amount of spray the waterfall gives out.
The waterfall is accessible by car or bus which makes it ideal for a day trip in case you only have a day to go around the city. There’s no entrance fee and you can climb all 527 steps to the top for a great panoramic view and even the entrance to the Icelandic Highlands.
You can also check out the nearby Skógar Museum, which houses some of the country’s historical artifacts and explore the nearby Seljalandsfoss waterfall and Reynisfjara black sand beach.
