Camels are used when traveling through the Sahara desert. This is because camels can travel up to 100 miles in the hot desert without water. We were told that camels keep water in their humps but this is a misconception. These humps are filled with up to 30kg of fat which is metabolized for energy and water as and when needed. When all the fats has been used up, the camel’s hump will become flabby.
