Located in south Asia, India is the seventh largest country by area and also the second most populous country after China. Ethnically speaking, it remains one of the most diverse countries in the world. It is also home to many religions, sects, tribes and castes. There are also more than a dozen major and at least a hundred minor linguistic groups that call India their home.
