Due to its remote location, the Mayan Ruins of Coba is not as popular with tourists as other ruins in Mexico. One of the largest pyramid at Coba is called Ixmoja and it is part of the Nohoch Mul group of buildings. It is 138 feet tall and unlike other Mayan sites, you can still climb this one.
If you look in the photo above, you can see there is a thick rope in the middle for safety reasons. The view from the top of the pyramid will be totally worth it so if you have the chance, go for it! However, be careful as you go down the 120 steps since going down is much more challenging than the climb up!
