Travel Photo of the Day: Antarctic Sunrise/Sunset

Did you know that the sun does not rise and set every day in Antarctica? It is something we take for granted that would always happen but it is a surprising fact to know about the White Continent.

From October through March, the sun does not set. From March to May, the sun begins to set and it stays dark from May through August.  The sun begins to rise again from August through October.

How amazing is that it takes Antarctica two months to do a complete sunrise or sunset?!
