The African elephant is the world’s largest mammal on land and they play a vital role in maintaining harmony in the ecosystem. These elephants ingest plants and fruits and they can walk for miles where they excrete seeds in some very fertile dung piles. This is how new plants can grow in different areas and 90 different species actually rely on the elephants for propagation.
The hardworking creatures also dig holes to expose underground springs which allow smaller animals easy access to water during drier seasons.
See the majestic creatures with your own eyes on our Botswana Cape Town group tour.
