Nsenene, a local Ugandan snack, has been compared to crispy chicken skin but it is far from being considered poultry. Nsenene is the local word for a long-horned grasshopper.
This local delicacy is prepared by vendors and families alike. The locals pluck off the wings and legs and fry these unlucky bunches in their own oil with onion, chili, and some other spices. These yummy treats are not available year-round so the locals really look forward to the wet season around May and November.
