The Bornean orangutans is one of the only three species of orangutan native to Asia. They are highly endangered as the total population of their species has been reduced by 50% in the last 60 years and its habitat cut by 55% in the last 20 years alone.
The rampant illegal logging and poaching have caused serious threats to the Northwest Bornean orangutans with only 1,500 of them are left in the world.
