Paris offers a wonderful mix of culture, art, and history. Our travel club will be going on a unique group trip to Paris and the surrounding French countryside next May. We’ve planned this trip with these three highlights as the core focus of this great European city. Below are just a few attractions to see and do whether you join our club or go on your own trip to Paris. For our trip it’s just the tip of the iceberg!
Seine River Boat Tours
See another side of Paris by taking a river boat tour along the Seine. Day and night rides are offered 7 days a week but the nighttime rides are even more spectacular with the building lights glittering on the water. Boat tours can be found around Notre Dame or the Eiffel Tower.
The Musée d’Orsay
The Musée d’Orsay is a fine art museum and gallery filled with impressionist art at its finest. Not only is the art exquisite, but the building is as well. The gallery used to be a train station and tracks still run through the middle of the gallery! Oh and by the way, the museum is filled with art by a little known painter by the name of Calude Monet.
Arc de Triomphe
The Arc de Triomphe is a masterpiece that was commissioned by Emperor Napoleon I. It is located at the western end of the Champs-Élysées, an iconic avenue in Paris filled with shops, restaurants, and monuments. Travelers can climb the 40 steps to get a view of the city from this world famous structure and see the memorial flame that is lit daily. The flame is a lit every morning in memory of the lost soldiers of WWI & WWII.
If you’ve never been to Europe, Paris and the surrounding areas in France is the perfect place to start. Join our art, history, & culture tour to France next year and explore these amazing highlights and so much more with us!
