Namibia group tour

This coastal wonderland is more than just your jumping-off point. It is paradise, in and of itself.

Namibia group tours are just as diverse as the country’s offering, with stops covering both its desert and coastal attractions.

We listed some of our favorite Namibia travel destinations.

Namibia Highlights and Features

Namibia group tour1. Foggy Coastal Desert

Namib Sand Sea. Namibia is a place of wonderful contradictions, and one of these is the Namib Sand Sea—a so-called “coastal desert,” among the very few in the world. The contrast is uncanny. Here you find a dry landscape right next to a body of water. But the result is absolutely stunning. Spanning over 3 million hectares, you will find dunes that resemble actual waves. Experts say this is the oldest desert in the world. Despite its topography, the desert is home to endemic wildlife, including the Dune Lark and other reptiles and invertebrates. In 2013, Namib Sand Sea officially became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

2. Climbing a Dune

Sossusvlei. In the southern part of the Namib Desert, you will find dunes unlike any other. The dunes in Sossusvlei are grand, standing between 650 and 1,000 feet high and poking out of the flat desert. And yes, you can climb most of these dunes, making this attraction an ideal stop in your Namibia photography adventure. Many visitors say that this area is a photographer’s playground, and we could not agree more. The most iconic shot is of the sunrise at Dune 45, wherein one side of the dune is covered in total darkness and the other is bathed in light. So you can make the most out of your visit, it is highly recommended to stay overnight. There are camps available with varying amenities according to your budget. It is also worth knowing that climbing the dunes may take a bit more time and effort since the sand is very soft. Do not forget to bring water with you.

Namibia group tour3. Driving Through a Safari

Etosha National Park. Safaris are pretty common in Africa, but this one in Namibia is perhaps among our favorites. Etosha National Park is a vast space for wildlife. The best part about coming here is that you are allowed to drive your own vehicle. Meaning, you have the chance to decide which route to take, at what pace to go. It is an experience that you should not miss. Most camps in this safari have a watering hole where you can safely observe the animals that come for a drink. Among the animal sightings are elephants, rare black rhinos, and hyenas, among others. Staying overnight (or for two nights) is a must, to get the full experience. Of course, it is important to be a responsible guest. Learn and respect the rules of the park and always, always respect the animals’ space.

The above are just some of the unique experiences you can have while on Namibia group tours. The landscape and wildlife are diverse, and there is always something new to discover.

Indeed, Namibia is a dream come true for many travelers.
