Dia de los Muertos in Mexico City!

*New Trip* – Mexico City’s Day of the Dead & Beyond

In Mexico, death is not tucked away in silence. It returns each autumn in a blaze of candlelight, music, and marigolds. Families across the country begin preparing for Día de los Muertos, a luminous celebration where memory bridges the distance between the living and those who came before. Our journey begins in Mexico City, where centuries of history lend grandeur to the country’s most beloved holiday. View altars layered with candles and photographs, sweets; markets brim with sugar skulls and the aromas of festive foods; witness one of the most spectacular parades in the world. Along the way, we pause to savor some of the finest tacos in the capital and discover the landmarks that give this great city its soul. From the capital we travel into the golden heart of the Bajío, arriving in San Miguel de Allende, a place of pastel façades, cobbled lanes, and quiet courtyards. Here the festival takes on a gentler rhythm. Neighborhood altars spill into plazas and patios, musicians gather beneath the rose-colored spires of the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, and the scent of copal incense drifts through lantern-lit streets. Our journey concludes nearby in Guanajuato, a hillside city of winding alleys and brightly painted houses. Once a silver-mining powerhouse, it now feels like a living stage set, where tunnels thread beneath the hills and plazas fill with music after dusk.

Over Land, On The Water – Amazing Alaska

One journey unfolds across the land, the other upon the water. The first chapter travels by rail through the wild heart of the state, from the gold-rush roots of Fairbanks to the untamed landscapes of Denali National Park . A full-day journey into the park reveals sweeping tundra and braided rivers where moose wander and grizzlies roam North America’s tallest peak rising like a white sentinel on the horizon. Along the way, pause in the spirited town of Talkeetna for a taste of small-town Alaska and the option to take to the skies for unforgettable flightseeing above glaciers and peaks. The rail journeycontinues south to Anchorage, where glass-domed railcars frame a moving panorama of glacier-crowned mountains, rushing rivers, and wilderness that stretches far beyond the horizon. The second chapter shifts to the sea. From the deck of an intimate expedition vessel, experience Alaska’s wilderness from the water, where towering landscapes feel close enough to touch. Agile ships slip easily into narrow passages and secluded coves far beyond the reach of larger liners, revealing quiet bays alive with sea otters, puffins, and brown bears along the shore. Paddle by kayak beneath sheer cliffs, hike through ancient temperate rainforests, and explore by Zodiac for close-up views of immense glacial walls.
