Back to Israel & Jordan and Cuba!

Two new trip releases today! First up is Colorful Cuba, fast becoming a PhotoFly favorite. In high demand for 3 years running, will it sell out in less than a day, again!? If so, we’ll do our best to add another group so more members can experience this incredible country full of culture, color, and classic cars!

Second is Mystical Israel & Timeless Jordan. No doubt we must head back to take more members to the Holy Land, full of awe, history, and an incredible array of landscapes waiting to be photographed! We’ve added another night so we can spend more time getting pampered on the otherworldly shores of the Dead Sea. Float effortlessly in the mineral rich waters at the lowest place on earth, followed by a massage and tasty beverage at our resort overlooking this iconic, salty mass of water!

Israel – Tel Aviv (2 nights) and Safed (2 nights)

Tel Aviv, Israel’s ever-growing metropolis, would be unrecognizable to its founders. A skyline of shimmering skyscrapers has replaced the towering sand dunes of just over a century ago.

The hilltop city of Safed is considered the capital of Jewish mysticism. In addition to a thriving old town, there’s an impressive artist quarter where creatives have thrived for decades. In addition to seeing the landmarks here, we’ll have cultural exchange with local families as we share in their weekly sacred ritual, Shabbat.

Israel – Jerusalem (3 nights)

This iconic city is home to some of mankind’s most important religious sites and historical neighborhoods, many of which you’ll see. In addition to exploring this city’s spiritual epicenter, we’ll take day trips to Bethlehem and Jericho to feel how mankind’s story could be told though these ancient cities. Amazing photo opportunities will be found in quiet back alleys, lively markets, expansive viewpoints, and scenes of daily life. Stops include the Old City, the Wailing Wall, Temple Mount, Dome of the Rock, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Machane Yehuda Market, the Haas Promenade, and several others.

Israel – Eilat (1 night)

En route to the southern tip of Israel, our route takes us through the Judean Desert and the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve. After checking out the dichotomy of the desert stillness against a shoreline oasis, this day ends in the growing seaside city – the best place to experience the Red Sea.

Optional Snorkeling Tour: Take a dip into the warm, turquoise waters of the Red Sea to discover a lively and vibrant world full of thriving corals, fish, anemones, and marine life. Enjoy this comfortable activity at a relaxing pace and add on another optional visit to the Coral World Underwater Observatory. This aquarium complex is full of sharks, stingrays, rare fish, and an incredible underwater lookout.

Jordan – Wadi Rum (1 night)

This is the closest that many of us will get to a place that looks and feels like Mars. This desert expanse features stunning rock formations, incredible canyons, red sand dunes, deep valleys, and plenty more. To explore, we’ll be in 4x4s cruising around the areas before arriving to our desert camp.

Luxury Desert Camping
In the heart of Wadi Rum’s majestic landscape stands our incredible camp, offering a uniquely awe-inspiring experience of serene desert living. Our distinctive Bedouin-style tents afford mountain views with a private bathroom/hot water shower, air conditioning, & a terrace. There’s even an option to upgrade this experience and sleep inside a Martian Dome. In this glamping arrangement, you’ll  have all the comforts of a modern accommodation with a giant wall of window in front of you for stargazing as long as you desire.

Jordan – Wadi Musa (2 nights)

While the name Wadi Musa may be relatively unknown, the major landmark of this valley is more recognizable – Petra! This ancient city has loads of places to explore, such as the iconic Treasury (pictured), ancient crypts, theatre, temples, halls, baths, and more. Built over 2,000 years ago, it is one of the best places to photograph in the entire country and since we are passionate about taking great pictures, we’ll visit more than once to get the best images possible.

Optional Dana Valley Nature Reserve & Village Walk: To see more of the area, join us for an optional walk through the protected Dana Valley Nature Reserve. Here you’ll see dramatic landscapes, local villages, ancient mines, and colorful compositions. After a delicious lunch prepared by locals, we’ll walk further into a local village to view their workshops, terraced gardens, and original Ottoman architecture.

Jordan – Dead Sea (1 night) and Amman (2 nights)

We’ll stop along the coast to capture stunning images of the unique and colorful salt formations, before enjoying this unique geological phenomenon in style at a Dead Sea Resort. Our resort features a private beach where we can experience “effortless floating” and the famous healing powers of mineral-rich mud. Spa treatments, massages, & meditations are optional.

Amman, Jordan: We arrive at our final city on the tour and like most places in the region, there are plenty of reasons to stay. Some of the stops include a Bronze Age Temple of Hercules, the city’s 2,000 year old Roman Theatre, three desert castles, and a lively downtown full of shops, cafes, and handicrafts.

Travel Club Update: COVID-19

PhotoFly Travel Club takes our current global pandemic extremely seriously. As such, a number of our 2020 and 2021 adventures have had to be cancelled & postponed like most in our travel industry. We want nothing more than all of our members to stay healthy & happy during these trying times. We hope everyone is playing their part by social distancing as much as possible. The more people who properly follow this crucial tactic in our country, and everyone around the world, the faster we will conquer and come out stronger & better prepared when this happens again.

As of today, we remain hopeful that travel will become feasible and safe again for most travelers early next year. In fact many countries, including most of Europe, have been on the decline for months now.  It’s important to acknowledge that these are mainly countries that have enacted strict social distancing measures much sooner and in a more timely manner than the USA has been able to. Good news is most of the countries on our upcoming calendar fit this description! For more details about the predictions and scientific modeling in each state AND many countries around the world go here: https://covid19.healthdata.org/ (you can select any state or country for the location specific predictions)

Enhanced Procedures & Safety Measures

As we get ready to explore the world with you again soon, our travel club has begun to implement new guidelines and practices for the “Post-Covid World”. Some of them are listed below. Safety is #1 and the ability to experience a destination without limitations due to the pandemic is #2

1. Country Specific Qualifications must be met to run the tour. Some of these include:
a. Daily infection incidence must show stable or decreasing trends for at least 30 days
b. Population Infected must be equal to or lower than .007% per 100K people
c. Hospital resources in country must be sufficient for predicted modeling at least 3 months after the start date of said trip.
3. PhotoFly Enhanced Safety Practices Including:
a. Masks for everyone in vehicles and other enclosed spaces
b. Sanitizer available at all times/ Surface Cleanings done constantly
c. Social distancing practices as much as possible & no contact health/temperature checks
d. Small Groups Only = Lower Risk. Only time will tell and we’re following the situation very carefully. Our pledge is to share nothing but scientific evidence and advice given by the CDC and World Health Organization (WHO). We will base our decisions in the coming months solely on these two sources.

We know this is going to be a difficult time for all of us, in a myriad of ways. PhotoFly Travel Club is committed to building amazing experiences for years to come. We will get through this together and come out on the other side with even more amazing trips.

We wish everyone nothing but the best navigating this crisis. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all to remain healthy and persevere until we overcome.

Much love and gratitude to all of our members,

Steve, Andrew, Catalin, Michelle, Raya, & the rest of our PhotoFly Team!
